The Mission
First, a little about myself. My name is Jon, and I can sum myself up in one simple Star Wars quote by Jango Fett - "I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe."
Where should we begin? Probably where any great story starts...the beginning. At some point in the far distant past, a young boy saw the Steven Spielberg film “Jaws," and was hooked! (No, that’s not a fishing pun.) The young boy was fascinated by the idea that there could be an almost 30ft long Great White shark lurking around some resort/vacation island named Amity, and that three men could set out on a boat to kill the shark. The shark fascinated the young boy, but not as much as the hard worked fishing vessel named the Orca.
For some, maybe odd or weird, reason the Orca drew the young boy into the film even more.
Was it the design of the boat? Was it the color scheme? Was it just the fact that Orca was a boat?! I can't rightly tell you to the answer to that myself. As any man, the young boy was drawn to the water ... to the sea. The young boy dreamed of one day owning the Orca, and deep sea fishing off the Florida coast or off in the Atlantic somewhere. That young boy was me.
Now grown, and still as much in love with the film and boat as ever, I’m making my dream a reality. My mission is simple: rebuild the Orca. Hopefully, in the process I can inspire some youngster to follow their dreams. If I can inspire someone, somewhere, to go out and follow their dreams, then that is satisfactory enough for me. Shoot me an email regarding any questions you may have.
Farewell and Adieu,
Jon
